The road is heavily trafficked, dangerous to cross with narrow shoulders where it is illegal to stop, limiting their accessibility. But this is the quickest access point to the community.

The children go to governmental schools at Ni'lin, walking about 15 minutes to Road 446 then getting into a private car which takes them to school. This costs the parents 600 NIS per a child monthly. Otherwise the children cannot make the trip walking on the rough, steep long road.

History
Expelled from Negev - Beer Sheva area in 1948. They moved to Masafir Bani Ni'em, and then came to this location more than 30 years, in search of grazing lands as herding was their main livelihood.
They live in two groups; A father and his sons consisting of eight families, and his brother along with his sons, consisting of three families.

General Livelihood - details
They own about 50 heads of herd in total. They lack grazing lands. In the past they would graze in the north of the village, but recently a violent settler has settled in a new outpost of Nili West. He herds his cattle in the same area and threatens and forbids the villagers from grazing.

About 15 years ago military forces came to threaten them with evacuation orders. They have since moved a short distance from that location and have not received other orders, but they are always fearful this will happen again.
